About Michael Burden

Michael is a dedicated Project Delivery professional, a certified IECL Coach, and mental health advocate. With over 23 years’ experience in delivering iconic rail, road, tunnel, and pipeline Infrastructure Projects both in Australia and overseas, Michael's background includes working for both public and private enterprise, on both client and contractor teams delivering complex infrastructure projects. His expertise spans all aspects of major project delivery; feasibility studies, procurement and contract finalisation, detailed design, contract & risk management, site supervision, stakeholder relations & interface management, safety assurance and project handover. Michael has the proven ability to form, develop and lead large and varied teams in major project environments. He is passionate about positive legacy, and is recognised as a mentor of choice. Michael is an experienced communicator and public speaker, and is as comfortable presenting to corporate audiences as he is to work crews. Michael has a well balanced skill set including both managerial and practical qualifications, ranging from ICAM training, RMS Bridge, Pavement and Traffic tickets, Chain of Responsibility Level I, II & competencies, Working at Heights (Awareness, Equipment Inspector and Height Safety Manager), Elevated Work Platform operation, Apply First Aid, AED trained and Cert IV Safety qualified. Michael is also an active member of the NSW Rural Fire Brigade - based out of the Cherrybrook Station and is a proud recipient of the NSW Premier's Citation and National Emergency Medal for his efforts during the 2019/20 NSW bushfires.
