About Michael Burkhow

A compassionate people manager with nearly 20 years of experience delivering exceptional support and guidance to staff. I possess a proven ability to work independently or collaboratively with others and a desire to ensure that everyone feels welcome, accepted, and heard regardless of their background or point of view. At Pine Butte Guest Ranch, I developed my hospitality and philanthropy skills, supervising housekeepers and participating the development and execution of high level donor events. The Seward Community Co-op provided me with an opportunity to lead and support for a team of customer service staff in a high volume retail setting. Finally, the Seattle Aquarium has given me the opportunity to hone my people and facilities management skills. I have built a team of security officers from scratch while developing procedures and protocols that have allowed this new and growing team to thrive. I have contributed to these organizations by utilizing empathy and understanding to ensure that staff feel safe in making decisions in the moment. I have advanced in every organization through a combination of soft skills and a growing toolkit of technical and experience based abilities. My new home is Los Angeles, California and I am looking forward to exciting new possibilities and adventures both personally and professionally. Thanks for reading:)
