I’m a specialist tax litigator with significant experience resolving complex disputes with the ATO & SRO. Exclusively focused on tax disputes and the most effective way to resolve them. I work with listed companies and private wealthy groups to achieve outcomes in areas such as R&D, depreciation of intangibles, Part IVA, and valuation disputes. I help clients and their advisers navigate the tax dispute process with confidence, including at audit, objection, reviews to the ART and appeals to the Federal Court, drawing on my key role in implementing reforms to make Part IVC disputes more accessible for businesses. For 11 years prior to joining Aptum I worked for the ATO and Commonwealth Treasury, holding a range of senior positions including acting Assistant Commissioner of the ATO. During my time at the ATO, I- led more than 100 of the ATO's most complex, strategic cases - was responsible for resolving multiple ATO disputes worth $100m+- negotiated security and payment arrangements between large clients and the ATO totalling over $1b Having been the ATO’s complex debt recovery expert, I oversaw freezing orders and cross-border recovery disputes. I was heavily involved in steering the ATO’s post COVID-19 debt recovery strategy and focus on giving my clients unique insights into the ATO’s latest recovery approach. I am an expert in bringing together stakeholders with wildly different interests to reach sensible, commercial outcomes with the ATO.
