About Michael Bussell

I am a retired Senior Police Detective. During my career in Law Enforcement, I served the majority of my career in Special Operations. This consisted in advanced training in covert surveillance and undercover operations. I also served many years in HIDTA KC Group 2 as an under cover agent. These areas of investigation included all crimes, to include Homicide Investigations. I also spent several years conducting “on-line” investigations. These investigations ranged from Social Media Investigations to investigating “on-line” child predators. I commonly reviewed and collected digital forensic evidence, as well as Geolocation Surveillance. Throughout my career I have testified hundreds of times in local courts, State Courts, and Federal Courts. I have been recognized by the State of Kansas as being an expert in the identification and investigation of Narcotics, Interview Techniques, Police Tactics and Procedures. I have also instructed other Law Enforcement Officers in the identification and investigative techniques regarding covert investigations. I have investigated a wide variety of crimes from Theft to Homicides. I am well versed in investigative techniques, evidence recognition and collection, as well as the art of the Interview. I have developed a style over the years that allows me to speak to anyone. I also spent several years on a Tactical Team as an Operator. I have been trained in Special Weapons and Tactics. I was also a Defensive Tactics Instructor. I have received advanced training as a Crisis Negotiator, which provides me with the unique talent of patience while interviewing and obtaining information. Even though I have retired from Law Enforcement and I am no longer a sworn Law Enforcement Officer, I still have a passion for serving and continuing the mission of Law Enforcement. Data is being collected from a variety of sources today. Assisting Law Enforcement in utilizing this data for successful prosecutions is one of the reasons I have chosen to work for GeoTime.
