About Michael Butters

After completing my apprenticeship during the late 1960's early 70's in the good old days of film I joined a leading London Photographer as an assistant doing little more than using a broom, making the tea and taking the odd photograph. The training that followed was invaluable and helped me develop my skills as a social photographer, photographing Weddings and Portraits. Today my repertoire also covers photographing pets, commercial products and events. I now use digital cameras, but still shoot as if I am using film. As a trained photographer I believe it is important to care about both the image and technical quality and get it right in the camera. It's when you have that,a picture becomes magical. Having dark room experience I also restore old, damaged and faded photographs using a specially developed technique. Last but not least I am proud to be recognized by the Master Photographers Association (MPA), The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and The Royal Photographic Society (LRPS).
