About Michael Casper

I am driven by a deep desire to create meaningful, lasting change. Inspired by Horace Mann’s words, “Be ashamed to die until you’ve won some victory for humanity,” I have dedicated my career to sustainability, education, and community impact. Currently serving as the Environmental Resources and Parks Foreman for Walworth County, I lead sustainable park and trail management, ensuring public spaces thrive for future generations. With 15 years of experience in landscaping, design, and project management, my work has centered on integrating green infrastructure and ecological stewardship into the built environment. Previously, as Project Manager and Certified Playground Safety Inspector for GRG Playscapes, I transformed play spaces into dynamic, nature-based learning environments. Before that, as Director of Facilities at Highland Community School, I spearheaded the HCS Natural Grounds Redevelopment Project, installing rain gardens, bioswales, and urban agriculture initiatives that became a model for Milwaukee Public Schools. I was an instrumental early collaborator with the Green Schools Consortium of Milwaukee, helping schools adopt sustainable practices that continue to reshape the city’s educational landscape. An honors graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College’s Civil Engineering program, I hold a Permaculture Design Certificate from Midwest Permaculture and am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Leadership. My expertise spans surveying, CAD design, sustainable infrastructure, and community-driven environmental solutions.
