I joined the New Zealand Police in 1977 and retired in At the time of retiring I was a Senior Detective in the Fraud Investigation Unit, completing major fraud investigations in the Canterbury region.New Zealand Forensics was established in and has become one of New Zealand's leading computer forensic/cell phone forensic companies. I have travelled extensively to obtain training and qualifications, which are recognised internationally. I attended both the Basic and Advanced Computer Forensic course held in Orlando, Florida, by the leading forensic training entity, IACIS (International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists). While traveling to these courses I also attended several major conferences relating to Computer Forensics and Electronic Crime. I am also a qualified crime analyst and have worked on major investigations. It was during these investigations that it became obvious that a Computer Crime Unit was required for the Canterbury Region.Since establishing New Zealand Forensics, I has developed a successful business specialising in Computer/Cell Phone Forensics. I am recognised as an expert in the NZ courts, in the fields of my expertise and have recently had sworn testimony accepted at the Privy Council, London, which assisted in Mark Lundy receiving an acquittal and retrial. I have also had a number of affidavits submitted as testimony in the Appeals Court and Supreme Court in New Zealand. With the ever increasing use of new cell/mobile phones, it as been necessary to invest in the latest cellular analysis hardware. With the purchase of the latest CelleBrite UFED Touch Ultimate Cell Phone analyser I am able to examine the latest cell phones that have been released and also the many thousands of older phones. While Apple are making it more and more difficult (since the 4S) to get Physical data extractions, we are still able to extract all the data contained within the files system.
