About Michael Chin

Summary Welcome at my LinkedIn page. I am Michael Chin and I design and implement IT organizations. As such I help CIOs to make the IT function more effective and efficient, the ultimate goal being: to help the business radically improve. I touch on enterprise architecture, IT governance, sourcing, information security and organizational change. A wide variety of subjects, but the coherence is key. Typical (interim) deliverables include a target operating model, EA artifacts, organization hierarchies, process models and flow diagrams, KPIs, RACI tables, job descriptions, roles and responsibilities, a capability based planning and roadmap, an implementation plan and, ultimately, the targeted transformation. I integrate frameworks, and methods such as COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, ASL, BiSL, PRINCE2 and MSP with management theories, the human factor and my experience as a practitioner: I know what works, what doesn’t, and how to make it work. I get very excited about transformations. If the business model is cracking and the business needs IT to innovate and accelerate. If the board thinks IT should be cheaper while laws and bylaws step up and cyber criminals are around the corner. And all that while not even the outsourcing is running smoothly despite everyone trying its best and working really hard. That’s when I get wings and love to jump in.
