About Michael Choquer
I am a postdoctoral researcher investigating several approaches for transforming the nonlinear AlGaAs-based quantum photonics platform from predominantly modular sources, circuits and detectors to one integrating multiple functionalities within the same chip. This is made possible by exploiting the many advantages of materials over silicon and other quantum photonics material platforms: direct-bandgap optical transitions, high quality epitaxial interfaces and MOCVD growth, increasingly mature semiconductor wafer-bonding technology, and several optical nonlinearities including the photoelastic, acousto-optic and electro-optic effects. I am part of a team led by Prof. Sara Ducci at Paris Cité University and CNRS, which is one of the leaders in AlGaAs photonics in the quantum regime in both the devices and the systems domains.
