I am a CIMA qualified, reliable, driven individual with 20+ years PQE. Grammar school educated with a First Class honours degree in Accounting with Computer Science, I have spent the majority of my career working within the Aerospace & Defence manufacturing sector for Meggitt Aerospace, a UK FTSE 100 listed company specialising in the design, engineering and manufacture of wheels, brakes and brake control systems to the world’s aircraft markets. More recently I have joined the heavily regulated Water sector as Controller for South Staffs Water. Throughout my career at Meggitt I lead the Financial Accounts team and covered a wide variety of activities from the day to day running of the Finance function to project work including an SAP implementation, a Finance Shared Service implementation, whole site move / consolidation and post-acquisition integration. Reporting directly into the Senior Group Finance Director and acting as their delegate as required, I provided a highly regarded, dependable platform enabling them to perform their duties without the distraction of the everyday activities. Having spent many years directing the Finance team and managing/delivering the month end close, budgets, cashflow forecasts and external/internal audits, I am confident operating in a high pressure environment to tight deadlines which I ensure are always met, achieved through teamwork, effective communication and accountability. I pride myself with a proven track record for identifying and developing talent, providing guidance, support and a mindset of continuous improvement together with being level headed, diligent, approachable and able to adapt to different situations.
