Background
About Michael Clemons
I strive daily to live life to the fullest, working hard to make a difference in the road race industry. I bring a positive attitude, initiative, and stick-to-itiveness to all I do. Through years of building up my network in Louisville and the national running industry, in December 2019 I branched out on my own to create the Louisville Running Company. LRC provides race management and operations support for races in the Kentuckiana area and around the country. Races worked include the Bank of America Chicago Marathon (where I currently serve as Finish Line Manager), TCS New York City Marathon, 2016 and 2020 US Olympic Marathon Team Trials, Houston Marathon, and Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon. In Fall 2021, I began the PhD journey to receive my PhD in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. Combining my running industry experience with my research and education background, in December 2023 I stepped into the role of Director of Operations for Running USA. Specialties: Event management, endurance sports, participant inclusion, organizational culture, organizational diversity, sport management
