About Michael Cody
Michael's career has been diverse, ranging from lecturing within the Communications degree at The University of Technology Sydney,(teaching cultural studies, film theory and experimental sound studies), through to a period as a television foreign correspondent for the SBS Dateline program. He has also produced and directed television commercials for some of the most respected production houses in Australia and overseas as well as independently producing and directing music videos for some of Australia's most successful musicians. Michael has written, directed and produced short films and feature films that have received local and international award recognition. Michael produced Amiel Courtin-Wilsons debut feature 'Hail', which screened in competition in the Orizzonti program at Venice Film festival and won the Melbourne International Film Festival Age critics award for best Australian feature. Michael and Amiel then co-directed, wrote and produced 'Ruin' which won the Special Jury Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2013 and screened at around 70 international film festivals winning a number of awards.
