About Michael Cohen

I am interested in learning more about product development & strategy and technology roadmap. This career path will allow me to utilize my past engineering education and experiences in addition to the concepts, techniques, and strategies that were learned in graduate school. Through the MIS and MBA programs I have been able to develop my technical capabilities as well as improve my management, problems solving (Kirton Adaption-Innovation Theory), and relationship building skills that will enable me to effectively work with all the stakeholders involved in the product development process. I have provided support to project stakeholders to ensure that projects meet the required specifications and design criteria and to facilitate project activities. I have created, maintained, and tracked the project schedule working to mitigate risks and move the project forward. I have developed the skills and capabilities to learn two Project Management applications to provide end user support and training to internal stakeholders and helped define IT PMO policy and procedures used for project management and governance standards. As a mechanical engineer I have worked with the sales department and end users to define product functionality and develop product specifications. Part of the product management process included working with and coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments to manufacture and assemble the final product. I have experience working with suppliers on pricing, part specifications, and quality requirements and working with customers to solve product installation and failure issues. I have also managed project time lines, schedules, and budgets that have involved internal divisions, suppliers, and third party vendors to make sure that the project meets all customer requirements and deadlines. I am Interested in exploring virtual or telecommuting opportunities as well.
