About Michael Coleman

Looking back on my life, I now realize my career was played out according to plan. I was using hand tools and machinery before entering my first play in grade school. As my father worked nights and slept days, I would spend my time inside an old truck garage and other times, an old sawmill ran by the rear wheel of blocked up pickup truck. I would watch the men and help when allowed. The pay was a smile and sometimes getting to start the engine. I would sneak, when no one else was looking, and try welding! After a couple failed attempts with a welding helmet, I decided to try without the hood; and I was extremely proud and had to tell my new “buddy’s”! They got potatoes from somewhere and I became the New Potato Kid and comedian for the old dudes! I had welded more than metal, my eyes were welded shut! Lol One skill then another and at the age of 15, I pulled my 1 st car out of the garage. A 1972 Nova SS that only a year earlier was a wreck, and. now was a piece of work that is STILL a topic when meeting childhood friends. I didn’t ask my dad for a cent to pay but the complement he gave me was worth more than all gold in Black Beards chest. As I attempt to apply for jobs and the questions ask how many years experience do you have electrical work, ect? I am morally challenged to tell the Actual Truth, because I am not sure how “ believable” it sounds- to myself! And I don’t claim to be The Best at Anything but, I am still signing up for classes and listening to anyone else that has the knowledge and time to teach me new skills or “tricks of the trade “? The latest interest, robotics? Hey, I came from the mountains of,KY? This, to me, is like Playing where some may consider it “work”! I have tried reaching out to MANY in a hopes of learning, I received a letter and invite from a company ( out of respect I withdraw the name), and I am truly blessed and grateful! I have not had the opportunity to actually dig into heart of robots- so to speak- so if anyone has any connections, I promise? I won’t let ya down. And my background is spotless; I just have to try- it’s Who I was designed to become? Thank You, Michael J. Coleman
