About Michael Collins

I have been a Maker all my life, starting my tool collection when I was 8 years old. This sparked an interest in robots and machining when I started middle school. That interest grew into a passion, which grew exponentially when I joined an FRC robotics team at Kettering University. Kettering University gave me my first real job in the field of robotics working as the facilities manager in their First Robotics Community Center. There I managed a full machine shop, manage a 3d print farm, and instructed high school and university students how to use these resources. I also instruct classes on building basic robots and various design challenges and how to overcome them. I share interest and experience in manual & CNC machining, woodworking, and FDM 3d printing. I have worked with programs such as FIRST robotics on the FRC, FTC, and FLL levels. Also with the VEX robotics program.
