About Michael Connor

I have 26 years of experience in the education of inner-city youth. My experience includes and begins with the teaching a 3rd through 4th Grade blend of students who all tested at 0% on in house testing and below basic on state testing. By years end the students made remarkable progress. By percentage, the students made between and improvement. The year after I taught at another school, Global Leadership Academy School, with a wonderful group of 5th graders. Again, a year marked by awesome improvement. Then I moved to middle school mathematics which I taught for 10 years. Those years were filled with great joy and educational progress. It was at this point, I was recognized by students, parents and staff as a teacher who loved his students and was passionate about his job. It was at this point I moved to another school to serve as a teacher at Tacony Academy Charter School. I taught 5th Grade for two years and the administration thought it would be best for me to become the STEM teacher for the entire Elementary School. It was a perfect fit. I loved and enjoyed giving the students education experiences in STEM for 8 years. It was in this position I had the opportunity to affect the school culture with a love for learning and a positive attitude toward education. Now I find myself in a new journey as a high school mathematics teacher at Tacony Academy. Looking forward to giving students the tools and resources to lead a successful life.
