About Michael Cooke

I'm an energetic leader with more than 16 years of construction experience. I won't be outworked during budget/bid phase of a project and I ensure clients gets everything they've paid for on the back end. I've seen how it works at one of the largest construction companies and at a smaller, more aggressive company as well. That experience allows me to offer clients a concierge construction experience at a discount. I've proven it again and again. I spent the last 5 years with Colmar Contracting hard-bidding, negotiating and managing projects ranging from breweries to restaurants to healthcare upfits. At Colmar Contracting I led pursuit and estimating of commercial projects and managed those projects post award. I spent the 9 years before that with Rentenbach Constructors (now The Christman Company) where my career was divided between project management in the field and project development, where I built relationships with clients through early project development and preconstruction. I provided field coordination and management of healthcare, hospitality, and adaptive-re-use projects for The Christman Company with project values in excess of $30M. A 2005 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, I grew up in a construction and a property development-oriented family business, where technical expertise and customer service went hand-in-hand. Specialties: Technical drawing review and approval, estimating (hard bid and conceptual cost model development), contract review, negotiation and buy-out, schedule development, procurement, marketing and project development.
