About Michael Coovert

Dr. Coovert’s consulting team at MDC & Associates performs research and consults in the areas of performance measurement, selection, organizational effectiveness, teams, quantitative methods, human computer interaction, and computer supported cooperative work. They are in the process of developing a serious game for DoD to assist in the selection of individuals into cyber occupations. He also participated as a panel member for the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine to advise the Federal Aviation Administration on its cyber workforce. For the past few years his research has addressed issues related to: cybersecurity; organizational effectiveness, multimodal visual, auditory, and tactile displays; and human performance (e.g, workload, human-robot interaction, human-systems integration, and work teams). Dr. Coovert has completed projects for many sponsors, including: the United States Air Force (Human Performance Wing), United States Navy (Naval Air Warfare Center/Training Systems Division), and U.S. Army (Human Effectiveness Directorate; Army Research Laboratory) and several non-governmental companies. He is a member of several professional societies, and Fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Psychological Society, and American Psychological Association. He is the recipient of several University and State teaching and professional awards.
