About Michael Cotrotsios

Currently a senior in the Darla Moore School of Business (DMSB) at the University of South Carolina, majoring in Finance with a concentration in Data Analytics. Since 2019, I have been seasonally employed at various companies located in Rehoboth Beach. Through these formative years, I assumed many positions including but not limited to lifeguard, host, busser, server, and bartender. During the last five summer seasons, I have been employed at Big Fish Grill and was used variously in all front-of-house operations. Most recently I held the bartender position and had the opportunity to hone my multitasking abilities, interpersonal qualities, and time management skills. An unexpected challenge I grew from was being able to handle outside pressure from customers or other employees while staying focused on achieving the team’s shared goal. Holding conversations with customers while preparing other beverages and serving over twenty-five customers furthered my multitasking and communication skills. Additionally, I was responsible for closing the restaurant and managing the cash drawers to ensure no discrepancies. My experiences highlight my loyalty to those who give me a chance and my commitment to continuously improving my skillset. As a finance major, I strive to further my financial knowledge and abilities, similar to my involvement in the restaurant industry. Seeking hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities, I consider all opportunities to apply my theoretical knowledge in the real world with open arms. My goal is to assume a position that will allow me to gain a deeper understanding of the finance industry and learn from seasoned professionals.
