About Michael Cotton

Michael Cotton is a storyteller. From his first job in comics as an editorial intern at DC Comics, the Pensacola, Fla. native was drawn to interviewing writers and artists. Beginning his career reporting on comics as a writer for WIZARD magazine, Cotton made his name writing features and profiles on then up-and-comers, such as current DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, current Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige and “The Walking Dead” mastermind Robert Kirkman. After being very impressed by the hats he saw famed college football coach Paul “Bear” Bryant wear, Cotton studied Journalism at the University of Alabama, where he covered sports for the independent student newspaper, The Crimson White, eventually becoming the Editor. In September of Cotton would leave Alabama, while two classes shy of his Bachelor of Arts degree to accept a full time position writing about the comics industry for WIZARD magazine. Over his decade long career covering comics, Cotton has earned a reputation as a trustworthy source of pop culture information. His unique perspective is especially sought out by early adapters in the coveted M18-34 category. Through his unique industry access and his authentic connection to the consumer, Cotton is looking forward to continue his pattern of delivering fans the story, of the stories you love.
