About Michael Craven
I qualified as a secondary school teacher in 2005 and had a successful 12-year career working in various London schools as a Science teacher. During my teaching career I held a range of positions, including Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Coordinator, Head of Department and Head of Year. Following my departure from teaching I spent a short time in the charity sector, working as the Parliamentary and Partnerships Officer for one of the UK's leading anti-hate crime organisations, Tell MAMA. In 2020 I joined HMPPS as a Prison Officer. In October 2022 I moved to the position of Apprenticeship Coach, responsible for the on-boarding and progress of all new starters on a Level 3 Apprenticeship. I am now excited to bring all my experiences and skills in education and training to bear in my new role of Professional Skills Tutor with BPP.
