About Michael Croker

Michael is the Tax Australia Leader at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, leading the team responsible for taxation policy and advocacy work with the Federal and State governments and regulatory bodies. Prior to this appointment, he led the team which designs, develops and delivers the tax, superannuation and financial advisory services training program. He has also provided technical and training design expertise to the development of the tax module of the CA Program. A Chartered Accountant, Michael is a former member of the Board of Taxation's Advisory Panel, the Black Economy Taskforce Reference Group and the Whistleblower Expert Advisory Panel. He is currently a member of the National Tax Liaison Group and numerous other Treasury and ATO consultation forums. He is also a member of the Global Accounting Alliance Tax Director Group. Before joining the CA ANZ in July 2012, he was responsible for the corporate tax law syllabus within PwC Australia in a career spanning 28 years (21 years as a Partner with PwC's Tax Technical Knowledge Centre). He has lectured in post-graduate tax subjects at The University of Sydney, and is a former member of the Tax Module Advisory Panel for the CA Program. He is a former Chair and Member of the Chartered Accountants' National Tax Technical Committee.
