About Michael D. Burckhardt

Extensive experience as a student leader through various on campus organizations such as the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), Associated Students Incorporated (ASI), and University Housing Services (UHS) have made me an expert in fundamental transferable skills such as leadership, communication, delegation/teamwork, and analytics amongst multiple others. Through the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers I have been able to connect with colleagues in my field, prepare for the professional engineering environment, and have been given access to opportunities such as Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which I completed winter of 2018. At Cal Poly Pomona I am a full time Industrial Engineering Undergraduate Student and have held additional positions such as UHS Resident Advisor, ASI Senator-at-Large, and ASI Asst. Secretary of Programs and Services. My short-term goals include learning and gaining experience within the Industrial Engineering industry, particularly in the areas of macro ergonomics, project management, and data analysis and consultation. My long-term goal is to work in the leadership field of of a creative and innovative organization, committed to excellence, and employ Industrial Engineering skills and methodology.
