About Michael Dailey

With over a decade of experience in higher education and student services, I am passionate about enhancing the academic and personal growth of engineering students. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Engineering Honors & Engagement Programs at the University of Michigan, I have spent nearly five years ensuring that our undergraduate engineering students receive exceptional support and opportunities to excel. In my role, I oversee the strategic operations of our office, manage a dedicated team, and develop impactful programs such as the Michigan Engineering Honors Program and the Michigan Engineering Common Reading Experience. My responsibilities include leading administrative functions, handling communications and marketing efforts, engaging with alumni and sponsors, and supervising a team committed to student success. In addition to my administrative role, I am also an Adjunct Lecturer within the College of Engineering. I teach courses such as ENGR 230: Honors Seminar I, ENGR 330: Honors Seminar II, and ENGR 499: Design Your Engineering Future. These courses are designed to help students explore their academic interests, develop critical interpersonal skills, reflect on their personal and professional growth, and prepare for successful careers in engineering. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, I held various leadership positions at Eastern Michigan University and Lone Star College, where I honed my skills in student advising and program management. My experiences include designing staff training programs, coordinating recruitment and special events, supervising student programming, and maintaining robust communication channels through websites and social media. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging educational environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential. Whether through innovative program development, effective leadership, or dynamic teaching, my goal is to inspire the next generation of engineers to lead with integrity and vision.
