Michael Davies is a sports television executive with more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of live production and emerging technology. He currently serves as Executive Vice President of Technical and Field Operations at FOX Sports, where he leads the teams responsible for bringing live sports to audiences across the network's full portfolio — from the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, MLB Postseason, and the NASCAR Daytona 500, to the regional broadcasts, remote studios, and smaller productions that are easy to overlook but just as essential to what FOX Sports does every day.Before joining FOX Sports in 2006, Davies spent a decade at HBO Sports — a formative stretch that shaped both his approach to production and his belief that the best work comes from teams that are trusted, developed, and given the latitude to solve hard problems. That philosophy has guided how he builds and runs teams ever since.Throughout his career, Davies has been drawn to the moments where technology and live production meet — identifying what's possible before it becomes standard practice, and finding practical ways to put it to work. That work has taken shape through the FOX Sports Lab, through early experiments with 5G and VR, and through multiple patents developed along the way. It's a thread that has run through everything, from the biggest events to the quietest production weeks.Since 2019, Davies has served as Chairman of the Sports Video Group, the leading professional organization for the sports media and technology industry. It's a role he takes seriously — less as a credential than as an opportunity to give back to the broader community of people who make this industry what it is.His work has been recognized with multiple Sports Emmy Awards spanning his time at both HBO and FOX, across NASCAR, NFL, MLB, and FIFA coverage. He holds patents for several broadcast innovations developed over the course of his career.He lives between Los Angeles, CA and Sperryville, VA with his partner Cecilia and son, Kai.
