About Michael Dodds Cmgr

In 2015 I left school with next-to-no qualifications to undertake an apprenticeship with DuPont Teijin Films. Close to the end of the first year, when I had completed an SVQ in Business Administration, the company helped enrol me in a 2 year HNC Business Management course with Carlisle College. At the same time, a full-time opportunity became available in the Planning department, which is where I then spent the next 6 years. Throughout my time in the department, my role primarily was to undertake the planning and charting of a thin grade polyester film line whilst undertaking various Six Sigma improvement projects, along with supporting others in the planning team. In 2018, I completed the HNC with Carlisle college and applied to Strathclyde University to take part in their Graduate Apprenticeship Degree Programme in Business Management. I thoroughly enjoyed the four year course and was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Business Management, as well as Chartered Manager status from the Chartered Management Institute. All of the qualifications gained throughout my time with DuPont Teijin Films were completed whilst working full-time, therefore allowing me to not only gain an education, but work to earn, whilst gaining invaluable life experience and professional skills. Shortly after my 24th birthday in July 2022, an opportunity arose to finish my 7 year tenure at DuPont Teijin Films and join 'Jas P Wilson' as a Purchasing and Planning Officer where I manage the supply/demand for the raw materials to the Manufacturing division of the company. In addition, I am involved in various continuous improvement and net zero projects.
