About Michael Doughty

I've been in the railway industry for over 36 years, largely in operations with some maintenance expertise after managing the Level Crossing Team in Anglia and now working in the planning side of the business. Currently working in Head of Planning for T3 Possessions in Kent and Sussex, my responsibilities include maintaining and expanding secondary protection through the use of Disconnections (T3-D), ZKLs / Remote Disconnection Devices (T3-A), reducing Possession Support Staff, and improving business efficiencies. For the past six months, I've been working with Network Rail Consulting on Amtrak's new train programme across America, supporting from the UK as a Subject Matter Expert to develop recommendations based on experience lessons acquired from our systems. This has been extended until 2026, and I am excited to be a part of the team again. During my previous years as a Project Operations Interface Specialist, my primary responsibilities included testing and commissioning the Greater Anglia Stadler fleet, as well as gaining further knowledge with rolling stock introduction that can be used in the future.
