Background

About Michael Doutre

I began my Journey with the Department of Veterans Affairs in March of 2016 as Environmental Management Services Supervisor. I am a retired Navy Hospital Corpsman. So this is my continuation of service to the heroes of our nation. I served in that capacity until 2019. My job was to ensure the Hospital was clean and disinfected for our veterans who relied on VA Saint Louis Health Care for all of their healthcare needs. While in that capacity I won the EMS Supervisor of the Year for the entire country in 2018. That award allowed me to transition into my next role as the EMS training instructor. I had the pleasure of training and instructing our Environmental Management Service University to all new Environmental Care technicians as they onboard into the service. My goal was continuation training of core competencies. I also acted as the service's QA/QC. Making rounds and making needed corrections as needed. I was the TMS coordinator for our service and always tried to ensure a perfect compliance record. I transitioned into the Technical Career Field Trainee position for EPS. This was the best training program I have ever had the pleasure of completing to help transform me into the EMS leader I am today. This program helped me master the important aspects of EMS and made me a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of Environmental Management Service. I was able to perfect my critical skills in the following aspects of EMS; Waste Management, Environmental Sanitation, Pest Management, and infection Prevention. I was able to obtain my T-CHEST, T_CSCT, Linen College, and CMIP from AHE and ALM. I graduated from TCF Trainee program in June 2023 and immediately transitioned to my new role in EMS as the Assistant Chief of EMS Jefferson Barracks Division. My goal is to continue to grow and make our service line the most responsive service in Saint Louis VA Health Care System.
