About Michael Duke

Sydney In 2016 I Co-Founded a content creation agency that created high quality content for small businesses to help grow their online presence. We worked with over 20 businesses all over Ireland. We later launched additional services including web design and digital marketing. We earned several awards for the success of the company including Bank Of Ireland Enterprise Student Award – “Best Company” and Educate To Innovate School Business Award – “Best Company”. In mid 2018 I was selected as one of 100 students across Ireland and the UK to take part in the McKinsey Leadership Academy. I took part in a number of workshops aimed at developing problem solving, communication and presentation skills. In September 2018 I started studying Commerce in UCD. In early 2020 I joined RecycleSmart as a Growth Marketer. RecycleSmart is an Australian startup striving to revolutionise the waste management industry. At RecycleSmart I led marketing campaigns across several digital media channels to increase user acquisition. I also assisted the CEO in delivering multiple strategic projects including writing proposal letters, implementing customer communications strategies and improving operations. In early 2020 I was selected as one of four students based on academic performance to complete the 2nd semester of my 2nd year abroad at UNSW, Sydney. In September 2020, I joined Applegreen as a marketing and operations intern. I worked directly with the Head of Marketing to curate and execute effective marketing campaigns. I also worked with the Loyalty Manager to manage the loyalty programme with over customers. I also worked closely with the Commercial Director to design the new Applegreen Loyalty app and bring the product to market. After graduating from Commerce UCD in May 2022, I decided to pursue my growing interest in UX/UI design. I went all in and moved to Lisbon, Portugal for a 10 week intensive UX/UI design bootcamp at Ironhack.
