About Michael Eng

Good is the enemy of Great." I am a passionate safety & security professional in the public transport industry. Having spent some time leading a dynamic team of safety & security champions in my company, it has enabled me to experience not only the arduous yet fulfilling aspect of the job but provided great insights into leadership development. Not only am I greatly involved in sustaining safety & security excellence as well as raising workforce vigilance in my company, I am also active in collaborating with International Association of Public Transporters (UITP) in providing training support to fellow public transporters from all over the world. In my previous career with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), I had the privilege of serving in various positions of strategic planning as well as research analysis. I had also received training in the area of security and had served two tours as Chief Formation Security Officer. Working within the ranks of SAF as well as partnering with other government agencies, this has indeed been an enriching journey where I was able to display my forte and more significantly, contribute to the security and international stature of both the SAF and Singapore. Peacetime involvement in multiple disaster-stricken regions had also equipped me with invaluable skillset and know-how on the need to develop working relationship skills to get the job done. One of the many notable contribution and achievement was representing Singapore and the SAF at the US-led International Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief (HADR) Symposium in Hawaii where military representatives around the globe gathered to discuss the multi-lateral efforts in providing efficient and effective assistance to disaster-stricken regions. The success of this initiative contributed to Singapore’s position as a responsible and capable island state.
