About Michael Eskdale

With significant professional experience covering current and former roles as a MRICS Building Surveyor Senior Consultant and Senior Project Manager, Michael has a solid technical knowledge base and delivery skill set, which he can apply to any stage of the built asset life cycle, from feasibility to disposal. Michael has 18 years’ professional experience working in Consultancy, Technical Building Surveying and Project Management roles; he is a driven and ambitious team player working at a Senior level. Michael spent 7 years in the UK working on a range of commercial projects which include; public sector, education, ecclesiastical, retail, residential, commercial and financial clients. Michael joined EC Harris in 2013, taking a role in Qatar for the Government Public Works Authority, Ashghal; reviewing an extensive asset portfolio of state education facilities for compliance with Fire Life and Safety Code. In 2014 Michael achieved MRICS Chartered status, passing the final assessment on his first attempt and receiving panel feedback, that his case study and presentation had been exemplary. In parallel Michael relocated to the UAE to continue his role as a Building Surveyor undertaking asset performance, condition surveys, feasibility studies, technical due diligence and life cycle reviews for significant commercial real estate clients including Jumeirah properties, MAF and a number of financial investment clients. In 2015 EC Harris was absorbed by the Dutch built asset consultancy Arcadis and subsequently rebranded. Michael established himself within the business; as the go to person for building surveying, project management and asset expertise, effectively delivering a diverse range of professional service lines. In 2017 Michael was promoted to Senior Level, within the business, in recognition of his professional development and track record of securing repeat business with established clients. In mid-2020 Michael seized the Covid pandemic as an opportunity to turn a negative situation into a positive one and took a career break with his young family, returning to his country roots to develop a sustainable off-grid small holding. In 2022 Michael started a new position with SNC-Lavalin as a Senior Consultant working with the Consultancy and Advisory Team, on a range of projects and professional appointments across MENAT. In 2023 the company was rebranded to unify all the subsidiaries and renamed AtkinsRealis. Most recently Michael has worked at Knight Frank in their Dubai office on a short fixed term contract as an Associate Partner.
