Background

About Michael Espina

Born in California into a military family, I have moved across the United States my whole life acquiring a broad perspective of the world around me. I have always had an strong interest in taking things apart and figuring out how they work before putting them back together and hoping they still work. Learning through doing is my cup of tea and I have idle hands that crave projects to do and things to learn. Recently, I finished building a 1965 Ford Mustang from the ground up in my driveway without any formal training or experience. Overcoming multiple moments of intimidation about not knowing how to do something and applying myself to learn how and do it anyway is a skill that I have learned and will always carry with me. I spent years working for an electrical distribution company working with engineers and technicians in MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) while being told I am very good at what I do and I wasting my potential. After years of progressing professionally as far as I could without a degree, I am back in school earning by bachelors in electrical engineering and I am very eager to continue my path towards a career that I can specialize in and take pride in as a professional. I am very organized and task oriented. I believe a sound process will provide the best results in most situations. My family motivates me to do my best and to be my best so that I can achieve the personal and professional goals and life I desire.
