About Michael Farner

Since completing my bachelor’s degree, I have worked for the Rutgers Oral History Archives. At my internship I have completed archival interview summaries for “Voces of a Pandemic” with the University of Texas at Austin. I have also conducted multiple interviews throughout my time there. I have gained firsthand experience with great communication and research skills. On top of this, I have edited transcripts for over 15 different interviews. Doing research into the history being spoken about during each interview, and fact checking. Helping fully completing the archives in our system online. Throughout my schooling career and my internship, I have gained better knowledge on archiving as a whole. Gaining organizational skill, along with preservation skills. With my public history experience and certificate, I understand important ways to communicate with the education world and transferring that knowledge to the public. I have researched into history for my whole career, from various topics of World War II, American History, and more. My overall 8 years of experience in customers service gave me great communication skills and helped me get a better understanding of how be more company focused and still meet the needs of customers. This experience also let me understand higher positions in certain company's that let me grow as an employee.
