About Michael Francki

I am a senior R&D scientist with expertise in pre-breeding for crop improvement (especially wheat) and 20+ years experience in project, program and senior management roles. I have several years experience in developing and fostering cross-sectoral partnering between national and international universities, government organizations, research centers and commercial plant breeding companies to develop and apply multi-disciplinary research for crop improvement. Successfully brokered RD & E funding between investment agencies, host and partner organizations. I have extensive experience in developing and implementing science strategy in a matrix system across plant molecular genetics, pathology, crop physiology, agronomy, biometrics, bioinformatics, cereal chemistry, metabolomics and crop breeding to deliver appropriate and relevant research outputs for commercial crop improvement. I am committed to ensure fundamental research outcomes are applied in crop improvement, therefore, I have advanced skills and several years experience in stakeholder engagement and translational research to develop relevant and appropriate products and services for uptake and utilization by the grains industry.
