Essential to the process is proper valuation, creating a prospective buyer list, marketing, and optimal presentation of the business. The individual buyers come from all types of backgrounds but most are successful corporate types determined to take control of their own destiny. A company buyer is typically looking for a complementary service or product to increase their existing revenue base. My experience in the Financial Services arena provided the optimal foundation for guiding private business owners on how to sell, buy or expand an existing entity. Having spent my entire career working with financials, negotiating transactions and developing long term relationships, I understand both the business and emotional challenges when dealing with a company sale or acquisition.
