About Michael Glowacki

Mike Glowacki, a third generation islander, is known for his business savvy and long-time civic service. A 1976 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill NY, Mike returned to Nantucket to manage the family business. Albert Glowacki Landscape, Inc. had begun in 1951, and later became G&M Landscape Services (now J&M Landscape Services). While expanding that business, Mike became involved in nonprofit programs and in local government, where he consistently meshed his managerial and business skills with his ability to find the common ground. Mike chaired the Nantucket Conservation Commission for many years, was named commissioner of the year by the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions in 2004, and later, chaired the Nantucket Board of Selectmen, as they updated the town’s fiscal and budgeting processes. Subsequent events brought the responsibility for two additional family businesses, Nantucket Marine and Outdoor Power Equipment, Inc, culminating in the transfer of both to the long time managers. Those years, managing a small portfolio of island properties, brought a shift in focus to the dynamics of the Nantucket real estate markets. Now, with that portfolio winding down, comes Bass Point Realty - continuing a tradition of trust that is rooted in dedicated representation.
