About Michael Goodrum

As the City Manager of Sugar Land, Texas, I have the privilege of leading a diverse, inclusive, progressive, and award-winning community with active and engaged citizens. I have over 8 years of experience in this role, and over 25 years of experience in local government, including serving as the City Manager of Coral Springs, Florida, and the Assistant City Manager of Sugar Land. My core competencies include city management, public works, financial management, strategic planning, organizational development, and stakeholder engagement. I work with a dedicated team of over 900 employees and manage a budget exceeding $350 million. I am also an ICMA Credentialed Manager and a graduate of Texas A&M University. My mission is to deliver high-quality services, foster economic development, and enhance the quality of life for our residents and businesses. I am proud to be part of a high-performance organization that utilizes innovative organizational development strategies to maintain a lean staff, low tax rate, Bond Rating and best in class citizen and employee satisfaction ratings.
