About Michael Greene

I am currently the Director for Communications and Education at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. I have oversight for communications and education programs involving media relations, television, internet, video production, museums, and school and university programs. Prior to JPL, I worked as an independent producer and produced the Showtime Network movie JASPER, TEXAS (Jon Voight, Lou Gossett Jr.) which won the NAIC Vision Award for Best Drama in 2004. Prior to that, I was the Vice President of Blackside Inc, a multi-media production company in Boston best known for its14-hour Emmy Award-winning series EYES ON THE PRIZE. I was responsible for new project development, corporate planning, and licensing and distribution. Prior to Blackside, I worked as a senior management consultant for Bain & Company in Boston, leading consulting engagements for Fortune 500 corporations in the consumer packaged goods, health care, and heavy manufacturing industries. I have been active on several non-profit boards and currently serves on the boards of the Pasadena Arts Council and the Armory Center for the Arts. I am also a published poet and a MacDowell Colony Fellow. I have received several NASA honor awards, including the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, the NASA Explorer Award, the JPL Mariner Award, as well as several Webby Awards for outstanding websites.
