About Michael Grossman

From deep-sea salvage to developing deep-impact leaders. I’m an American born and raised in Malaysia — a third culture kid who grew up attending international schools in Kuala Lumpur. From an early age, I was living between cultures, learning how to adapt, connect, and lead in diverse environments. That’s shaped everything I do today. I started my career as a commercial diver and underwater welder — working in extreme environments, recovering sunken vessels, and solving high-stakes problems below the surface. Today, as the Founder of Big Ocean Dive, I channel that same grit, curiosity, and sense of adventure into building transformative outdoor education experiences. Our mission? To help young people, educators, and teams dive deeper — into nature, into community, and into themselves. Big Ocean Dive creates large-scale, high-impact programs for international schools and organizations across Southeast Asia. We’re not just running trips — we’re designing real-world learning experiences that develop: • Leadership • Resilience • Empathy • Environmental awareness • A global mindset We’ve grown beyond diving — but the ethos remains the same: The courage to explore the unknown, and the confidence to lead through it. I’m passionate about helping people stretch their limits, see the world differently, and walk away from nature not just inspired — but transformed. Let’s build the future of education — one unforgettable experience at a time.
