About Michael Guerrero

Most recently i worked at Tachyon Networks, Inc, as the Manager of Database Development. There I helped design develop, and maintain various Oracle databases (versions 8I through 11g) for our custom provisioning and billing systems. I developed java and pl/sql integrations from our custom databases to Pointman, our ERP/Manufacturing system, Salesforce.Com, and Perforce Version Management System. At Tachyon, I maintained excellent relationships with our Finance, Business Operations, Network Operations, and Product Operations departments and worked the them to define requirements and and translate them into programming requirements for a group of 4 Oracle programmers that I managed. I also developed a reporting suite and custom dashboards for various departments using Oracle Apex. Prior to Tachyon, I worked for 11 years at San Diego State University in the Financial Aid Office. I started as a student programmer and worked my way up to Systems Coordinator. As Systems Coordinator I led a team of 5 programmers and analysts and planned and executed a conversion from Ingres relational database to Oracle. Prior to that I participated in the conversion from a COBOL based system to a relational database system (Ingres). Our Financial Aid system achieved a great honor when it was selected by Oracle to be part of their Higher Education application. Specialties: Oracle database design, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Oracle Apex, Forms and Reports, Integrations from Oracle to 3rd party systems.
