About Michael H Steinberg

I have worked with Pine Street Inn for 15 years working on a number of different projects and developments. Being Director of Facilities and Capital Planning puts me in a position to do many great things to help improve my organizations overall maintenance, energy conservation, and capital planning budgeting. While helping to improve these areas of the Pine Street Inn organization, I have introduced new contractors into the organization, such as HVAC/ Johnson Control Management System. I have worked with many great design and structural engineers on Space Planning projects throughout all of our facilities at Pine Street Inn, educated technicians within major capital projects with budgeting and hands on training, and created as-built and updated engineering aspects of all of the buildings infrastructures. I also oversee that particular inspections/programs are scheduled and completed properly and up to code. Some of these inspections/programs involve ADA and Egress awareness protocol and inspections, preventative maintenance programs and design, and annual certifications with inspectional services such as; The Board of Health, Department of Public Safety, OHSA, and the Boston Fire Department. One of my driving forces is to make Pine Street Inn an overall more energy compliant organization. To improve the efficiency of the organization, I am always looking outside of the box to find ways to redesign older, pre-existing equipment to max out efficiency. Along with keeping an eye out for new efficient products and materials, I also work with Johnson Control to update lighting control, setbacks, and tracking to have full control of all energy usage throughout the foundation. Specialties: Engineering, infrastructure of buildings, Customer service to the highest degree, Going GREEN and making our older buildings reach new and improved boundaries every day.
