About Michael Hackett

I was the dishwasher who worked his way up to sous chef, and, the non-traditional student who finished his degree at 30. My name is Michael Hackett and am seeking the next great company to give me a shot. I have worked in various industries and developed valuable and versatile skills drawn from being a culinary professional, field production assistant, and student of life. I have a strong work ethic and desire to learn built on formal education and "real world" experience. I honed the key skills of verbal communication, prioritizing, and time management during my culinary career. I have worked in varied facets of the industry, from intense short-order cooking, to banquets and catering. When the internship with Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives presented itself, I learned to grow from someone who had zero experience to a competent field production assistant. The crew taught me what was expected and I learned on the fly. I adapted and adjusted each day and became a valuable crew member. The most valuable lesson was to persevere and succeed at a golden opportunity I had no experience in. I possess a varied skill set that production companies and related fields can utilize. I've also shown the ability to learn and be trained in a job I had no experience in. I'm a strong believer that many jobs can be taught if the company is willing to train.
