About Michael Hamwey

As a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, I am passionate about creating spaces that foster connection, inclusivity, and growth. With a diverse background in mortgage finance, restaurant management, and community-building, I bring a unique blend of strategic thinking and people-first leadership to every venture I take on. I currently serve as CEO of Kava Luv Social Lounge, a growing brand known for botanical teas, artisanal mocktails, and community-centered events. Under my leadership, Kava Luv has expanded to multiple locations, launched a successful franchise program, and built a strong reputation for customer experience and employee development. In addition to my work with Kava Luv, I also serve as an Account Executive at American Heritage Lending, a leading non-QM mortgage lender. In this role, I build and maintain relationships with mortgage loan officers and brokers, helping them close more loans by matching their borrowers with the right products and solutions. I leverage over 15 years of experience in the mortgage industry—where I began my career as a loan officer—to support my clients with deep product knowledge, responsiveness, and integrity. My professional journey has been shaped by my ability to adapt, connect, and lead. After earning a Criminal Justice degree from Southern New Hampshire University, I transitioned from finance into entrepreneurship, determined to build businesses that make a difference in both people’s lives and the communities they serve. I believe great leadership starts with empowering others. Whether it's mentoring my team, collaborating with partners, or guiding clients, I focus on shared success, open communication, and continuous improvement. Outside of work, I enjoy sailing, watching sports, and finding new ways to grow. My personal motto, “Men’s best successes come after their biggest failures,” guides my journey as a leader, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner.
