About Michael Harley

I'm a Power Platform SharePoint Developer working remote from Richmond, VA. I have expertise building applications with Power Apps and Power Automation. I'm passionate about UI/UX and accessibility. I particularly enjoy building canvas apps that do not look like canvas apps. Microsoft positions Power Apps and Power Automate as “no code/low code” solutions but I’m passionate about approaching projects with a developer mindset where we think about scalability, maintainability, business continuity, security, stability and performance. Any intelligent person can probably search the internet and figure out how to setup an approval workflow in Power Automate. As an engineer with code first experience, I’ve discovered some successful patterns and practices that I use for low code solutions on Power Platform. My background as an SharePoint Admin/Engineer means I understand SharePoint at a fundamental level that many SharePoint Developers do not. When I'm not working I'm probably riding my bicycle, hiking up the side of a mountain, playing foosball, reading or telling one of my cats to get off the keyboard.
