About Michael Harrison

My 20+ years of experience building relationships and working with various populations in professional settings are documented in my resume. Collaboration with colleagues, students, and others in the community has been an ongoing theme throughout my career as I worked with: academic and personal support and counseling, evaluating credentials and status certification, staff training and instruction, the evaluation of sensitive documents, coordinating and hosting events and presentations, recruitment, programming, as well as the articulation of county, state and Federal policies, procedures, and requirements. I served as a representative at countless events throughout my career, particularly during registration and recruitment periods, open houses, and other various county-level events. I have experience managing staffs as large as 31 people and spent many years writing for a university newspaper, as well as maintaining a website and social media outlets. I recently completed Associate Degree in Accounting from Guilford Technical Community College. A rather sophisticated level of computer literacy has been attained, as well, having earned certification in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks. Additionally, I have worked extensively in software programs that track data and account information and am well-versed in the practice of handling confidential records and maintaining confidentiality. I possess excellent public speaking skills and consider a normal work environment to be a fairly noisy one in which I handle multiple demands simultaneously.
