About Michael Hasty

I started tinkering around with computers when I was younger, messing around with coding on our family computer back when dial-up was the standard of the Internet age. From then on I would grow the habit of Tinkering, finding something that was interesting to me at the time and tinker around with it. I would look up tutorials about how to do whatever I wanted to do with whatever I was tinkering with. It was mostly software at the time, anything ranging from coding software to game development software to digital design software. At some point in time I learned how to make a script for the computer that would change our family computer's password to something I made up. My mother wasn't as excited as I was. I kept up my tinkering throughout middle and high school, eventually going to the Newaygo County Career Tech Center in Fremont during my Junior and Senior years in high school to learn more about graphic design. I took Graphic Communications both years, learning to use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. After high school I went to Muskegon Community College and spent one year there taking their Interactive Media and Game Design course. I had to stop after just one year, unfortunately, but I've been self studying what I've been wanting to learn in relation to that career line on and off ever since. At the time of going to college at MCC, I was working at McDonald's in Fremont for just over a year. I put in my two weeks because I moved to a different city. After working at McDonald's I worked at Wendy's in Muskegon for roughly six months. After there I started working at Walgreens in 10/2014. I worked as a Cashier for two and a half years, and applied to be a Shift Lead in 04/2017. I was working as a Shift Lead at one store for a little over a year before I took the offer to be a Floating Shift Lead, giving me the ability to work between seventeen different stores in our district depending on where the help was needed. I've been a Floater since.
