About Michael Henderson

I have spent my career building businesses within larger companies. My background demonstrates a successful track record of business development, sales, fund raising, and team leadership.I have also been very involved in venture capital in the Travel & Leisure industry, CleanTech and InsureTech industries. This included investor relations, assets raising, and business strategy. My last role was at Barclays in London. I joined to establish and run a key part of the equity sales platform. The goal was to found a new business within the existing organisation around hedge funds and mid-market clients/accounts- I built a team that covered 300+ accounts in over 24 different countries- We were the most profitable part of the UK/ European sales-force by more than 2x- Oversaw revenues that exceeded multiples tens-of-millions of GBP/ year. Prior to joining Barclays, I spent close to three years at Morgan Stanley as the #2 on the Global Equity Sales desk in London. During this time, we became the #1-2 Global Equity desk on the Street. I was poached by Morgan Stanley from Sanford C. Bernstein where I had spent 7 years. After a successful start in NYC, Bernstein asked me to move to London to help grow their London based sales organisation. I began my equity career at UBS, in New York, where for three years I sold Asian equities to New York based accounts. From an education standpoint, I attended McGill University in Montreal for my undergrad. My majors were Finance and Industrial Relations. Later, I received a full scholarship to do my MBA at Babson College, in Boston, from In 2011, I finished a second masters degree - the Masters in Finance - from London Business School. In between these two degrees, I also completed the CFA designation. In the world of equities, I have a unique background in that I have sold equity product for Asia, the US, and Europe. My rolodex runs very deep given the expansive range of clients I have covered over the years. I spent over a decade covering the world's largest asset managers. From this I transitioned to covering a wide range of hedge funds, family offices and sovereign wealth funds. While I have mainly worked at large institutions, I consider myself extremely entrepreneurial and now seek business opportunities where I will be able to help growth businesses achieve their objectives.
