About Michael Herterich

My procurement career started at Washington Group International (formally Raytheon E&C) in May after leaving a ten year successful career in Retail Management to continue my education. My initial position at WGI was as a contract Computer specialist for project controls and procurement, where I was able to impress enough people to get hired on as a permanent Buyer Level 1 in May working mostly on New generation Power Plant Projects and Corporate Wide Supplier Agreements. In May 2001 I was assigned to the field as a Material Receiver for a Power Plant project in Sayerville, NJ. In March 2002 I was hired by the Infrastructure business unit as a Buyer I on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail project in Jersey City, NJ, where I remained until September, 2004. During my assignment on the HBLRT my career flourished and I left as a Senior Buyer, when I accepted a position on the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project in Vienna Virginia. I left Washington Group in March 2006, due to potential layoffs and accepted a position as a Sourcing Analyst 2 for Shaw Stone & Webster.Specialties: Purchasing, Expediting, Material Receiving and Control
