About Michael Hodges

My mission is to educate physical education and health professionals, future professionals, district administrators, and sport/fitness coaches with current research and practices. Currently a professor with research primarily emphasizing on physical education curricula, physical education teacher education, and teacher change. Besides my passion for training the next generation of teachers, I feel it is important to always stay connected with current veteran teachers from surrounding schools aiming to be a resource for maintaining a standards- research-based and exciting program. I truly believe a positive experience in school-based physical education can greatly contribute to a child’s decision to engage in leisure-time physical activity. I choose to remain open-minded and learn everyday, and challenge the differences of practices, aiming to offer nothing but the best for my students and the students they will eventually teach. With that said, over the past few years, I have dedicated my passion, experience, and knowledge to a new physical education resource called, The Physical EDGE. This is a app- and web-platform aiming to offer a TRUSTED, and reliable resource for physical education and school professionals. Check it out! It’s free. Feel free to contact me with questions or comments on similar interests.
