Background

About Michael Hough

I’m a hardworking and motivated UA92 media and communications graduate. I’m from Manchester where I attended school and completed three A-levels – media, history, and English literature. Since doing my A-levels the media industry really interested me and I knew it was a potential career I wanted to pursue. Alongside my education I also have some voluntary experience which greatly helped to develop my personal skills, whether that be my communication skills or time management. Over a three-year period, I volunteered at the British Heart Foundation, and, within those three years, I spent a brief amount of time volunteering at Sue Ryder in which I aided them with the marketing of their products on Facebook. During my time at sixth form and my first year at university I have acquired a vast range of new technical skills ranging from audio and video editing, photography as well as presentation skills which have each significantly developed over the first four modules in our first year. I also worked part time as an Argos sales assistant from September 2021 to August 2024. Like the voluntary work I previously did, this occupation has also been helping to further develop my personal skills, improving my confidence. After finishing my media and communications degree at UA92 with a First Class Honours, I have taken on the role of internal communications executive at TalkTalk where I have had an amazing number of months so far, and can’t wait for what’s to come!
